Default Dove barbel

Managed a chub just over 4lb and this barbel that went 9 1/2lb this morning from the Dove

Had to pack up at half twelve as the wind was getting a bit strong, but well worth the trip.

Got it on an 8mm halibut pellet fished with a feeder full of 2mm and 4mm pellets, has worked most times I've been, especially for chub.

Still surprised that only a few people fish the river, really makes a change from watching the carp rods and offers a different challenge with good fish often on the feed even in winter. Most chub are 3lb or above, and is always the chance of hooking into a barbel

Default Dove barbel

KevW...that's a cracker...

Do you know Tony Bromley (of Copmere record bream fame)...he does a bit on the Dove?

I get the impression it's a tricky river for big barbel

Thanks Steve, though don't know Tony Bromley.

Done the day on there today, 2 barbel 7lb and 8 1/4lb, 5 chub biggest just over 4lb and a mad brown trout that was a foot and half long and weighed about 3lb

i went past a stretch of the dove yesterday and it looked gorgeous, is it worth night fishing on there or best as a day ticket? as it`s a fair old drive from mine!

Have only done days myself so far, is a 150 mile round trip but has been worth it. Will be doing some overnighters in the summer though, have got to get a double out this year.
