New Record Roach

Hear the roach record has been beaten with a 4lb 5oz from the Arena Essex! Monster of a fish!! Anyone else heard any details?

my god i haven`t caught a roach for years, used to be happy with 1lb roach, crackin catch!

caught by a carp angler i would guess....hair rig boilie the lot....mind you a 4lb roach probably has a pretty big mouth...!!!!!!

nope got broke not long back......carp angler boilie etc etc....we were catching them last year on the lido...they loved the old dynamite shrimp n prawns....had one about 12oz....it gave me a screamer...

Would anyone on here bother to claim it as a record if you caught it while carp fishing?

It's certainly the fish of a lifetime, must be one of the most difficult big fish to catch as a target species. Wouldn't feel right to me claiming any record unless I was fishing for that species.

Closest I have come was 2 huge dace back to back from the Ribble years ago, both 1 pound fish when the record was 1lb 4 oz
