Thumbs up Barbel....

well done mate....I love barbel....probably as much as carp....what fighters..they are mint fish....you can't beat watching the old rod tip twitch as it rights itself over the bait...then BANG...the rod just wallops over...they never stop fighting right to the net.Anyone who has never had one go and have a try...they like boilies these days so you probably wont even have to change your tackle...lol...

Well done mate its far better then my 1st barbel !!

Which much to my embarrasment i thought was something else.

Fishing the Dane i was being plauged by gudgeon then just as the bailiff was coming down the bank checking tickets i hooked a large gudgeon put it in the keepnet as you do and when the bailiff got to me and asked .
"Had owt"
I replied
"Not much but i have had the biggest effing gudgeon you have ever seen in your life must be a record"
"Lets 'ave a look " The bailiff said
So i pulled the net out of the water grabbed the offending fish and clutching it turned and said .
" There you go mate you gotta admit its a bloody clonking gudgeon"

He squinted at the fish in my hand then laughed and still chuckling said
"Ha ha ha daft bu**er!!thats a young Barbel "

It was a barbel about 8 - 10 oz
