Home Alone
After learning that I would be home alone on sunday as the wife was working and both the kids were out i decided to take a trip to capesthorne.
I arrived at the venue at about 6.30 just as it was coming light and everything looked perfect with cloud cover a light breeze over the water and fairly warm too.
After checking out the water i choose a swim in the shallows over the bridge to the left on park pool and decided upon a method feeder approach for the bream and fed the swim at about 40 yards with about 1.5 kilo of mixed pellet and started to fish over this with the method feeder.
Well all was quiet for the first hour then the alarm screeched off and i soon landed a handsome bream of about 6lb which i returned to the water and looked up to see 2 swans havin about 1.5 kilo of pellet for breakfast before leaving so not to be too peeved i put more bait out and they returned again about 20 minutes later then left again after they had their fill so gave it one more try and took another bream about 5lb this time then to my disbelief those swans seemed to come from nowhere again and then decided enough was enough and moved onto the garden pool in the deeper water.
This proved worth while as i started on the method feeder again and took a couple of bream then set up the waggler and had great sport catching 20+ bream to 7lb on corn over pellet on 4lb main line to 3lb hook link and size 14 hook, all in all a great decision to move and quality sport thanks to the swans.
