Default Forget the carp and tench...

...I've re-discovered how much fun fishing for crucian carp is.

5 CRUCIANS in 2.5 hours Monday evening, and 2 in two hours tonight (rain stopped play).
Plus loads of roach.
Cats and Dogs nutty pellets or Sonubaits pellets doing the business.

Fantastic looking fish. Fishing for Crucians certainly isn't for the faint hearted. Well in.

[QUOTE=MANAGER;213229]...I've re-discovered how much fun fishing for crucian carp is.

Now i am retired i was going to really do alot of carpy stuff this year.

The result so far has been the carp gear hardly came out the garage but the waggler rod is worn out. Its that same attraction of 45 years ago to control a float rod and fish for Tench, Bream, Roach, Crucians. Real enjoyable stuff.

If you started with the basics and moved to carp you WILL revisit the basics sometime

If you started with carp and never did the basics you WILL be a short term angler i use the word angler very cautiously

Most carpers i see nowadays dont even get on the first rung of the fishing ladder.

Bebbo, you know where I've been fishing for the crucians, the p*** lake.

I've had plenty of them over the last 10 days, that one in my first photo was a tiddler, but it's nice to catch them of different year strains.

I was on again Sunday morning, there was only me fishing.
2 anglers didn't emerge from their bivvies until gone 8.30am by which time I'd already had an 18lb carp on the right tackle, and pulled out of 2 more on my float gear.
I then moved swim, had another carp within 20 mins, and it was none stop roach fishing, with a couple more crucians for good measure.
Now that to me, is fishing, not hiding in a bivvy with the door shut....and casting tight to the far reed-line and pads as well.

Bebbo, why not use your float gear, and have a carp rod out as well? It's a bit inconvenient having 2 lots of tackle on the go, but worth it.

nice one manager!!

like you say mate, how can it be fishing if you're zipped away in your bivvy??

i enjoy my surroundings just as much as my fishing;can't see the point in going if you can't even see where you are...........
