Default river ribble

thought i would start a separate ribble thread for a few reports

fished last night from 8pm till 12 am , managed to land 7 barbs , lost 1 to a hook pull ,

nothing massive , but good sport all the same , biggest maybe 7 1/2lb

water temps up significantly from the last 2 weeks , going from 14's to 19.4 degs last night , this explains the up turn in sport for me

stu

More Barbel.... I'm gonna have to get myself down to a river that holds them pronto.

8 in 4 hours (including the hook pull) is more than good sport I'd say.

Well done.

managed a couple of short sessions over the weekend

1st was a roving trip with a mate , tried various baits , rolling meat etc , barbel didnt want to play , but i landed a 1lb 10 oz roach on meat , size 4 hook and 10lb hooklink !
i finished with 3 or 4 chub and the roach , mate had 3 chub and broke his rod

went back alone yesterday , plonked myself in 1 spot , had a nice barb within 5 mins , around 6lb got steady action through the session taking 2 around 6 , 2 x 5's and a 4lber ish , pulled out of something that felt decent

Nice one mate, every time I read your reports I get a little voice in my head saying I should have a dabble on the Rivers for the Barbs.

I'm sure the missus will be more than pleased

Good stuff, well done.

its more family freindly than carp fishing imho ,

when i was into the carp , i wouldnt dream of doing a session of say 4 hours , but that amount of time is more than enough on the running stuff

so you get to go more often
