Another brief session.
Sykes on the whip, got a feeling of deja vous with this one.
Only this time no bites for the first ten minutes then a steady stream, ending up with almost a feeding frenzy.
Tried a lot closer in this time (2.5 metres maximum, maybe this is why the first bites took ten minutes?)
First fish falling victim was this roach, quite alot of damage to its flank on both sides, they looked quite recent too.
There were also a few caught that had what I can only describe as mouth ulcers??? There's probably a name for it, but I can honestly say that I've never caught fish with this problem before. Look very similar to blisters and bright red, obviously filled with blood.
The pattern of fishing this method seems to be pretty consistent, although I did lose one fish due to the hooklength snapping. Bigger roach come later on and seem to be very positive talking the bait. Not monstrous, but good sport.
Went home quite happy... Thought I better take the dog out, so retraced my steps back down to the reservoir to walk her round. Got to the peg where I'd been fishing and the water looked like a jacuzzi (I'd put the remaider of the seed in at th end of the session). So who knows, if I ever get longer than a couple of hours, there could be bigger things to come???
