Just a thought but for general coarse fishing couldn't the bottom of a landing net be made of some kind of perforated foam with net sides, kind of like an in-built unhooking mat

Would be perfect for tench, small carp etc, net can be put on the floor while unhooking fish.

Just remember where you heard it first

It'd be interesting trying to net something if the base of the net floats??? Plus it'd probably stink after a few sessions and rot away.

Perfect for me, as It wouldn't get wet many times anyway.

As for Ruffe in Sale, may be the cormorants have eaten them all. There used to be quite a few.

I'd like to argue that they wouldn't be caught on 15mm boilies anyway, but I could be wrong.

I getting a bit giddy at the prospect, next thing you know I'll be going for sticklebacks in Fletcher Moss Park ornamental gardens, that'll have to be a night session for obvious reasons.

No mate no parkies there anymore but the Heron had all the goldfish and koi out of the place . The bowling green now has flower beds in the middle of it . As there are no parkies i would presume the tennis courts are shut as well .Well they were last time i was down on the old patch
You could always try the pool at the back of the flood gates or that pond we used to fish on Lees lane on the Moss side card no one has got that anymore

Have had unhooking mats for years that haven't rotted away so that shouldn't be a problem. Know what you mean about the base floating but should be able to make one that sinks, poss with perforations to let water through

Possibly right about the perforations, but I'd imagine that would be quite difficult to manufacture???
