Carp fishing's a splinter group much the same as Fishing for Barbel, Catfish etc... It's far from the be all and end all. Admittedly they go big and I can see the attraction in that. But as I don't have the time for long sessions, I put my catch reports up on the coarse section.

To say I'm in the sport for the wrong reason is frankly laughable...

I'll hold my hands up (again) for mal treating a fish... But how many monkeys does it take to bang the drum???
Nobody is banging the drum drynetter, we are just simply looking out for our fellow forum members.. if you do not want to take our advice then its simple, dont us our forum. I have just re-read the whole thread again and at no point were any of us 'banging the drum', we are offering advice, but some people would rather not take it...

Don't think they're having a go mate, just making a point. Likewise, you've made yours and as far as I can tell, we can all see what you are saying.

We just care for the quarry, same as you. No big deal.

For what it's worth, I have a couple of new unhooking mats here. PM me your address and I'll send you one out - just to show we're a nice bunch.

Nice fish, btw.

Next ones gonna be called "In search of the elusive Ruffe!"

Should get a few raised eyebrowse on Sale... Half a pint of pinkies should just about cover it!

Hopefully I'll try and sort this out in the next month or so.

You have been warned. May have to make a "special" unhooking mat for that one.

What's the point in that? I like a bit of a challenge.

Has anyone got the GPS reference for where the ski ramp used to be? I've heard that's THE HOTSPOT.

Should be ok as the groundbait I'm using is high in steroids, sure that will give them the extra strength to budge the tip a quarter of an inch....

Hmmmm... any port in a storm

Little B used to be alright, it's probably not there anymore, or is it?

As for Ruffe in Sale, may be the cormorants have eaten them all. There used to be quite a few.

I'd like to argue that they wouldn't be caught on 15mm boilies anyway, but I could be wrong.

I getting a bit giddy at the prospect, next thing you know I'll be going for sticklebacks in Fletcher Moss Park ornamental gardens, that'll have to be a night session for obvious reasons.

I saw the perfect unhooking mat - it had special tabs on the side designed to stop the fish falling off. I think it was made by a company called Lillets. I don't recall seeing a como version though.

Mike.

Not much good if they get too wet, one use only, could prove to be very expensive.

Mind you a full pack should last me a season or two .....
