No trip out this weekend

Looks like the weather earlier in the week has put a block on my planned trip to the River (Mersey). It's well up and fairly trucking through. I haven't got the will or inclination to fish Sykes Reservoir (again)...

But I did go on some kind of recce on Friday to have a look at how much the River has changed in the last 12 months. There have been a few quite dramatic changes. The area where Micker Brook comes in near Kingsway looks almost unrecognisable with the flow totally changing and a few fallen down trees. This area will definitely get a look once the flood water has subsided. There looks to be a nice run through where the old mill was once situated.

This area is free fishing by the way, the other bank belonging to Cheadle anglers. I'm still yet to see anyone fishing on that bank. Looks like it will be a trip out with the trusty weed cutter to get through the bankside vegetation just to get to the water.

So depending on the state of the weather in the coming week, that'll be my plan.
