Default old faithful

took a day of work to day as weather was nice. left the carp gear at home and took my old float rod for a change armed with a tin of corn and 1/2 pint of maggots down to my local lake. Wat a day 10 roach all over the pound mark 6 carp to 5lb , changed swim and at my feet was a pike could resist dangled my maggot on his nose and bang got him at 7 1/2lb best day Ive had for a long time . but back to carping at weekend sorry lads no pics

Sounds like a fun day - always good to have a bit of variety in the fishing.

Hope you used a wire trace for that pike though - nobody wants to go leaving hooks in fish.
