Right this could open a world of woop ass but it's not mean't to...there's people out there im sure that think the same.??

Am i being grumpy when i say im sick of reading the pages of a** licking when certain individuals catch fish...no jealousy involved!!
No disrespect to some of these anglers because they've had some great fish but i would feel with some of the reply's that's unless you think your Ronaldo..
One guy's told me he would rather pm a congrats as he doesn't want to be seen on this band waggon .!!!

Do people agree or am i missing out on the licking.???

Each to their own mate.

I have no problem with those who post a 'well done' when somebody has a fish, be it big small or whatever.

I often post something myself, for the simple reason that it's nice to share in somebody else's achievements and happiness - after all, aren't we all supposed to be brothers (and sisters ) of the angle?

I wouldn't call it **** licking, just being friendly with like minded anglers.

You ever considered joining grumpy old men?

Then why doesnt he just pm then??? dont see that its being a brown nose by congratulating someone on a catch, its just congratulating them on there achivement. nowt wrong with that is there?? but each to there own as said above, just think its a good thing to do but just my opinion

Guess it's my time on the month 'J'.!!!

Just think that someone like Ritchie get's more of a overwelming response when he catch's be it a double or more than that compared to say 'Jo Blogg's' who might of caught a fish of a lifetime or bigger...

Anyone would think 'Ritchie' had the Cheshire record.!!!

Just think sometimes the comments posted are a little OTT when these people catch that's all...

You might well be right mate, but surely that just shows that he's liked by a lot of people?

There are a number of regulars on here who's catches usually get quite a few posts, and I don't think it's any coincidence they are all genuinely nice people, either on or away from the bank.

Aah ha,i had an inkling of what you were getting at stopper old boy,and yes i do agree with you to a certain degree, however, its a bit of a catch 22 situation here,i dont think there,s a man jack who would not agree that ritchies 40 was an awesome capture and deserved the congrats offered, but where do you draw the line? joe bloggs who catches his first double(or even 1st carp for that matter)is gona feel just as pleased with it and in all probability will want to share his joy around, and so he should,(lets not get into the realms of elitism here)at the end of the day its upto the person reading the thread wether or not they contribute to it,as has been said already "each to their own"".Now devils advocate time, wasnt there much debate not long ago about certain 3 and 1 word threads taking up too many pages have you seen the list of congrats on some of these captures,by the way as5 kissing is a bit strong

Question

Just a quick (friendly ) question Boilie stop, would you consider putting up a catch report thread on here mate? (Regardless of fish size)

The question of wether ritchie or anyone else for that matter, posts a catch report isn,t whats being brought into question it was the long lists of "well done ,nice one and good one etc" i for one hope he and others carry on posting capture pictures, whatever their merits, and im pretty sure a lesser list of well dones wont put him off from doing so,because we all like looking at carpy photoes whatever their content(Might need to make the pm messaging section bigger for some tho)

That's a fair point reaper.

It is something mods/admin have discussed at length in the past. My hope was that people would start submitting catch reports for me to add to the main site to free up the forum of such posts.

I made a request at the top of the catch report section over a year ago that people pm or email me details to add to the main site, and members (or anybody come to that) would then be able to post a comment below each article if they wished. It fell of deaf ears though - people just continued to post their catches in the forum.

I then started pm'ing or emailing people for more info on certain catches in order to do it myself, but most did not reply or gave crap info to make it not worth adding. In the end I gave up.

I did consider closing the catch reports forum which would then make them contact me if they wanted to share a catch, but I thought it may deter people altogether - so we've stayed as we are.

As such, we tolerate the one or two word answers in this section for the reasons given above; mainly that they are sharing in somebody else's happiness, etc, rather than trying to bolster a post count or whatever.

J

Is a public forum not just a small reflection of what life is really like. Some like to congratulate some dont, some are genuine congrats, some are not. Some brown nose to those they hold in high regard, some dont. Some moan and winge about everything, others never moan. Some post there captures on here, some dont (the shrewd ones??) Its all human nature, look around you, it happens everywhere, where we work, where we socialise, and it happens on here - its all part of the psycology of man.

Its not a problem is it? If you dont like it dont read it.
