Yup, that's what I'm hoping to move to over the next few months. there is a bolt-on gallery package I can buy that works with this forum software, so members would be able to have their own galleries. In addition I'm looking to add galleries for specific waters, etc.

I'm also looking to purchase blog software, which would allow members to post about their sessions, etc, which I think could make interesting reading - more so than a few words on a catch report, as people will be able to see/read the background.

As usual, it's all down to time and money. Fancy software costs, and once purchased it will still take quite a bit of time to configure and set up to work the the way I want it to within the existing forum.

It is coming though - all the sooner if the new NWC Members Club receives a good response.

Cheers...

J

Would be a rather dull site without the catch reports, is good to see at least someone is managing to bag a fish or two when I'm not which does at least give me some hope next time out

Could always post "yet another flukey 30lb common, crap fish mate........" as an alternative

At the end of the day he deserves some pats on the back, you only have to look at what he has caught over the year....

And also he is very modest about his catches anyway

Anyone would think 'Ritchie' had the Cheshire record.!!!

Just think sometimes the comments posted are a little OTT when these people catch that's all...

My view.

This section of the forum should be used to give an indication of how a water is fishing. To share advice with fellow anglers etc.

However I feel it is used for bragging rights on occasion, and the true nature of this section (IMO) is never seen.

Anglers don't want to share, where and how they had success too much anymore. This has all been recycled in various other threads before so I won't repeat all that.

When a person posts a capture, and refuses to give out info about where said fish is from and any details of the capture, then that post is nothing more than a "look at me" thread. If said angler said where he had it from, and a little info to go with it, the post would have a little more substance and point to it, other than the obvious patting on the back.

I've nothing against an angler being proud of a capture, and wanting to share that. I just think it's nothing more than an attempt to gain a little e-recognition though all too often.

These are all my personal views, jump on them if you like.

p.s This is a general point of view, this isn't aimed at anyone in particular.

As long as you don't show any definitive background, or state where the fish was caught from, then you could post pictures with no problem.

I have a similar "no publicity" ban with all the waters I fish except 1.
As I don't catch many, you won't see many pictures, but the info of where I caught from may well be there.....in code, only obvious to fellow same-water users.

I don't think it's "bragging" as such, it's just letting others know that a few fish are being caught, of whatever size.
Doesn't everyone ask if a fellow angler has "'ad owt?" when meeting them? Well, the catch report is just telling you before you ask.

Personally, sometimes I congratulate someone on a capture, sometimes I don't, it depends on when I've seen the post.
