just had 3 hours surface fishin on Comstall Lodge with my mate. We both had 2 fish each. My mate had 2 scrapper double commons and i had a scrapper double common and a 14 mirror. Really nice looking fish, i'll post the pics tomorow if i can.

Nice to meet another forum member too BigTed, goin off todays result i might see ya down there a few more times before capes and TP open!!

Not sure where it is to be honest, i go with my mate. Its stockport way somewhere in the hills.

No doubt BigTed or one of the other members will be able to tell you!

BigTed was just on for the social this time. There was about 7 or 8 people on and most caught whilst we were there. There was fish jumping every where!

sounds like its just started to come on form, its produced the odd fish here and there but there haven't been many multiple catches, though i've been told there will be once the fish start getting their heads down properly

compstall is a little village in stockport between romiley and marple bridge, there isn't much there besides a few houses a post office and a lake so you can't really miss it

Hi Shaun I grew up carping on compstall 25 years ago. Its a park lake in Etherow country park.
Find Romily on the map, drive through romily towards marple, 2-3 miles up the road the road decends downa steep winding hill, at the bottom of the hill is a left turn and then first right into the carpark of Eterow CP. The lake is about 8 acres with two islands. It is very public with lots of dog walkers and ramblers passing very close by, there is a man made path right around the lake.

I havent fished it for 10 years or more but its was and still is a hungry - easy low doubles water with the odd better fish.
Its run by stockport federation of anglers, you need to buy memebership at a local tackle shop or post office, you need too buy two season permits for two rods but it was cheap in my day.

Good water for beginners to learn the trade, i certainly did and have fond memories. It was always no night fishing with a keen park ranger back then, from reading stuff on here maybe thats now ignored???

was realy nice to meet you last night pal!!! i enjoyed it!, your second kipper came out of no were pal from what i could see hell of a swearl it was mint!!!! comi's a top gaf for getting a bend,,,,, and as you know gaz mate.............there's other attractions to the place we'l have to get a short session planned pal kin top stuff mate!! well dun!!!!!!!!
