I managed to get out for my first proper session of 2006 yesterday.
I had intended to do a bit of surface fishing down at Basford pools, but it was pretty rammed when I got down there. Fed a few swims but was not really in the right areas so could not get them going. I decided to drive up to Blackwood and spent a few hours fishing off the top down towards the dam. Managed to get them feeding well and had a few missed chances but nothing was banked. No matter though, as it was overcast, windy, pouring with rain and a little cool to say the least, so I was happy enough with the fact I’d managed to get them going at all! Can’t explain how good it was to be back out on the bank after what must have been my longest period of non-fishing in years! Hopefully it won’t be as long before my next session .Julian

Rich called round yesterday, as he was going up for a few hours. Gave him some particle, a bag of peckers and a tub of worms.Got a text a few hours later to say he'd bagged his first BW fish off the top. Good work fella.
