Default Fishing at last…

I managed to get out for my first proper session of 2006 yesterday.

I had intended to do a bit of surface fishing down at Basford pools, but it was pretty rammed when I got down there. Fed a few swims but was not really in the right areas so could not get them going.

I decided to drive up to Blackwood and spent a few hours fishing off the top down towards the dam. Managed to get them feeding well and had a few missed chances but nothing was banked. No matter though, as it was overcast, windy, pouring with rain and a little cool to say the least, so I was happy enough with the fact I’d managed to get them going at all!

Can’t explain how good it was to be back out on the bank after what must have been my longest period of non-fishing in years!

Hopefully it won’t be as long before my next session .

Julian

I know what you mean J. Ive had to pick and choose the times I go fishing carefully to, and your right, you dam well appreciate when your out there!

I think it's made me a better angler for it aswell, when I used to go week in, week out, I kind of got stuck in a routine of doin' the same old same old, not really being that bothered if I caught or not because i knew I'd be back the next few days to try other area's etc. But now, because my time is limited, I have to make sure everything is spot on and that im doing all I possibly can to get a fish on the bank.

So even though your time on the bank get's slashed a bit when a new one arrives, I think your mind set changes, and all the knowledge from over the years get re-activated to help you make the most of your time.

Tight lines.

Not bothered about not catching in the slightest, was mint just to be out, but yes, will have'at'em next time.

Rich called round yesterday, as he was going up for a few hours. Gave him some particle, a bag of peckers and a tub of worms.Got a text a few hours later to say he'd bagged his first BW fish off the top.

Good work fella.
