Smile It's a first.

A day off work today due to a hospital appointment, so I had a few hours left for fishing. I'st lake I looked at was about 20% iced up, just where I wanted to fish. 2'nd lake I looked at had several swims closed off due to flooding, so 3'rd time lucky, this lake only had ice in a few spots, so made myself comfy, turning my chair round to keep following the sun....as you do.

Only been there for 4 hours, and was thinking of going home as the sun had disappeared, and while I was sitting on my mat, freelining in the margin trying to catch a feeding fish, my other rod tore off.
It's been sooooo long, I'd forgotten how hard carp fight, and how much they smell.
Well pleased, and I'll be back.
17lb. 6oz.

15lb synergy line, 2oz flat pear lead, 15lb merlin hooklink, and a 12mm boilie popped up with a bit of rig foam (it's part of a camping mat really).

Picture edited so you can't see where it was.
