Default Bite alarm recievers

Just wonder how many people actually have recievers for their bite alarms. I have them at the moment but im updating my alarms an dont really know if they are that vital. I tend to fish with my rods virtually in my bivvy

Syndi rules state a receiver must be used.I dont want to be awaken by some plonker with an alarm set on maximum sensitivity in a howling gale with single bleeps going all night.

Reciever comes in handy when fishing a certain PA water with the motorway less than 50yrds from the back of your bivvy...

lol i know that feeling! dont use them myself as i like to be right next to my rods.gives anglers an excuse to wander off down to their mates swim for a social.

I find them usefull especially as im impossible to wake up so have to have it right next to my head.

Plus there is some waters that you wont be able to bivvy up right on top of ur rods so they definatly come in use!

ive got one and wouldnt do without it .
if its raining heavy outside your bivvy or very windy and you,ve got the door zipped down then instead of having your alarms turned right up outside you can have a reciever turned down right at the side of you !

I used to think they were a luxury, but they do have many uses. As said before, they are less obtrusive than having your alarms on full wack in the night. If it's blowing a hooli or ******ing down with rain ,or even both, hearing your alarms can be tricky. A decent receiver eliminates all the above.

I don't think they're vital, but have one
I use mine mainly for under the tip stuff, I have my buzzer volume
way down for most of the time, and they're good for the odd social
one or 2 swims away mind!, I'm not keen on venturing 3 million yards
from my rods
If you don't want to change your buzzers look at the Gardner ATTX System
The V2 that's on the marker now's a top piece of kit

yep got to agree with all the said points above, cant do without mine. At night alarm volume right down with the receiver in the bivy thus not to disturb any one but me,cant be doing with those people who keep every one up all night with there alarms

Slim,
I heard on the grapevine that you fish Gorsty Hall a lot at night with maggots for hookbaits and are often found with your vibrating receiver tucked neatly in between your man stumps eagerly awaiting the next imminent run off a screaming scamp, adding a new meaning to the euphoria commonly described as 'buzzing'....
