Default Best reel for fishing as well as spodding

I am sure that the forum members can assist with my queries. I will soon have a dedicated spod rod and need a reel to go with it.
As a recent convert to carp fishing I am still building up my “tackle” and as I do not have limitless funds so I need a reel suitable for both fishing and spodding and would like to spend up to £100 to try and ensure a reasonable life.
Having read through some of the previous posts on the forum it would appear that the retrieve rate and weight are two issues in addition to life that most people consider important.
OK the questions – having decided on a retrieve of 100cm or more (to reduce the pain from the lowly 86cm of my 8000GTE-B’s) I was surprised that the commonly used spod reels (Shimano Aerlex/Navi/Biomaster) have only a 98cm retrieve compared to Daiwa’s dedicated spod reel at 122cm and therefore started looking for possible alternatives.
Shimano’s Ultegra 12000XTA’s has a retrieve of 103cm and a good reputation as a reel for fishing so was my first thought but I have also found out the new Shimano’s Ultegra 5500XTB have a similar retrieve but are about four ounces lighter (even lighter then my 8000GTE-B!) but I have been struggling to find the retrieve info for other manufacturers.
Before I spend any dosh can anyone suggest any alternatives and/or supply retrieve information for any other manufacturers or am I missing out any other considerations?

good light reels , and will last the distance.
