Its a great rig when used for targeting larger carp of 20lb+ but shouldn't be used on runs water or when targeting smaller carp as it has a tendency to double hook and cause mouth damage! Its one of those rigs that if used in the right situation by the right angler then its great, but if used in the wrong situation then it can cause alot of damage! In this months total carp Adam Penning shows how to make an alternative 360 rig which uses shrink tubing to form the curved hook and therefore less likely to cause any damage!

Works the same as the stiff rig so will stick with that, less chance of mouth damage.

do you not think that there is loads of metal. It just looks odd. Really good hooking mechanics but so much metal

Not for me!

There you go me!

See what you mean about there being a lot of metal, if it works though! Could be worth a go.

there has been a version of this around for many years incorporating a lot less metal ! and i agree it should not be used around smaller fish as it does double hook very frequently

Last time out, a guy next to me showed me his rig, it was the 360 but with no line attached. The ring on the swivel went straight onto the leadcore leader and was fished with a popup chod rig style between two rubber beads. He said Frank warick showed it him and that it was an excellent hooker?

Views?

not sure about the idea with it so close to the leadcore it may have some effect on the hooking e.g as the fish sucks the bait these are my thoughts but if frank warick uses it and thinks its a great rig then it cant be that bad

The normal one owrks like a stiff rig and the other one described works as a chod rig. All this hype about a rig that has been about for years. Be safe use the stiff rig or chod.

LMAO you wont use a standard longshank rig, but are prepared to use one which has a chance of double hooking
