Default Problem with my Smartcast Rf15e!!

I bought one a few months ago and it has always worked fine. Took it out with me on saturday though and it kept telling me the depth was between 70-80ft, when i know it wasnt, and it wasn't showing any pic of the lake bed! I had fiddle with the depth range settings etc and also put in new batteries! Has anyone else had this problem? Not sure whether i've messed one of the settings up or something or if the sensor float or receiver unit is broke!!

Cheers!!

I've had somthing similar where the depth is about 3ft deeper than it should be and the bottom is distorted. I think its the transmitter causing the problem but not fixed it yet.
