Default Fox Stratos Fs 10000

Anyone seen these reels yet or got one? Just browsing on flea bay and came across them. The shop thats selling them......

Quotes:
"FOX STRATOS FS 10000 BETTER THAN SHIMANO BAITRUNNER"

"IN OUR OPINION AS GOOD AS A SHIMANO BAITRUNNER"

I think they have a long way to go to live up to Shimano's reputation. I know Fox are decent but this is there first reel ain't it?

Personally mate they don't look up to much. They have got to be something special to beat the shimano long casts

I was playing with one on Saturday. Whilst they don't have the same impressive look of the 10ks, they do feel great!

Don't forget its not the LC's or Big pits that they are up against its the 10ks

The Oscellation on the reel is superb, miles better that the 10k.

The clutch and bait runner feel really smooth, so do the 10ks though.

If i was buying a reel of this type then i'd seriously consider the fox reel but as i already own 10ks theres no point me selling them to get the fox ones.

The oscellation is really impressive though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a firm believer in the moto;
'Better the devil you know'
If you use Shimano or Diawa in my opinion they are the 2 manufacturers of reels that are waist, head and shoulders above any other manufacturer.Basically they are the best so why change to summat that looks like it costs about £9.99. I have tried 1 or 2 of those cheap reels and they do work pretty well but i know they just could not stand the abuse/strain we put them under and when push came to shove they would fail and let me down. OK for banking a few singles on a commercial water but could they chuck a rig 120 metres and be able to handle all the riggors of striking and handling a running 20 or 30 pound carp at that distance ,i think not. I may be wrong but if what you have already got works for you stick with what you know works. To mention another saying/motto i am a firm believer in .

' If it aint broken dont try and fix it '

hello all this is my first post on this forum so here goes.

like a lot of people i judged the reels on there initial looks. As rightly stated these are not big pit imitations these are fairly and squarely aimed at the baitrunner market. they do look a little tacky but having spoken with seeral of my army carp fishing mates who have had hands on they would appear to be excellent reels with some neat touches like the ultra slow twin speed oscillation. they also have a clip that fits on the spool to switch it from deep to shallow for lighter lines.

Yes they have a long way to go to beat shimano and daiwa's repoutation but for a first effort it is a stonker not to sure of the price however. Me i will stick with my longcasts

First of all welcome Hagz hope you enjoy the forum.

Well I want to see some of these myself in the flesh so to speak then i can make a firmer judgement. I have Longcasts and 10000's both excellent reels can't fault them at all but like i said i will have myself a ganders at them sometime in the future.
