Ive been using the chod for the last few winters for fishing singles to showing fish. I mainly use bright smelly pop ups but i haven't tried using it in conjunction with bottom baits yet.

Works best as a pop up rig imho. You need a good cork ball pop up, shop bought ones really cant hack the weight for very long. Its not the easiest rig to tie and people seem to substitute materials all the time which ruins it.

Clueless, take a ring swivel and a length of esp bristle filament about 6 inches long (this length makes the rest easier. Tie a 3 turn blood knot to the swivel and pull it really tight, blob the end. Then tie what i think is a spade end knot on the hook. It involves going through the eye of the hook, lieing the line against the back of it and then with the free end wrapping back towards the eye about 5 times. Then take the end back through the first turn. Pull tightish and then pull the hook and the knot will lside down the hook and tighten up. Now use the tag end to create a small round loop with a ring in it, blob the end to keep the loop there. Curve this length over your thumb and attach to leadcore leader. Perfect.

Its all about the details with this rig, if theres a kink, a twist, if the D isnt sitting right.....re-tie it! It works so much better. You can vary the lenght 3 inches gives better hooking than a 1.5 inch on but is a bit more blatant.

Agree with what Joephus says - it is vital that you tie the rig correctly and it can be quite fiddly at first as stiff rig materials can be quite tricky to tie! I've found that the fox rigidity is easier to use than the ESP stiff rig material. Make sure you use a hook with an out-turned eye - ESP stiff riggers are good. the end result should be that the hooklink should create a curved extension of the hook.

Cheers boys for that. Can any of you fellas out there photograph the whole thing and put it on. Include rig and leader?? Would just like to see what it looks like, all the mags etc only ever show the hooklink.

As the name suggests totally clueless!
