Clear leader trouble

I got a few of those secret trap clear leaders to try,I used pallomars to attach them to the mainline as I didn't want strangulation issues,They all bedded down and tightened up nicely,no probs.All Looked fine and I didn't have any problems while fishing with them,till I came to change my mainline,when i removed the knots the loops were totalled where the line had cut into them,not impressed.Have any of you had similar experiences with them and what knot would you use instead.

have you tried making up your own from 25lb+ flourocarbon ? easy enough to do and will save you a fortune

Doh!! not thought of that But what about the safety aspect,when I first started carping I saw people fish without tubing and witnessed lifted scales and damaged flanks off the unprotected mono,one good thing about the ready mades is the suppleness and gauge.Has anyone seen the new korda safe zone leaders up close n personal?

I wouldn't worry to much about lifting scales Bet, i've caught loads of carp on Zigs and floaters and don't remember lifting any scales i think that when using really thin braids it may be a problem but not with most mono's

Zigs eh I can't seem to get my head round em.I might av to pick ur brains sometime ,if you don't mind
