Doh!! not thought of that
But what about the safety aspect, when I first started carping I saw people fish without tubing and witnessed lifted scales and damaged flanks off the unprotected mono, one good thing about the ready mades is the suppleness and gauge.Has anyone seen the new korda safe zone leaders up close n personal?

I wouldn't worry to much about lifting scales Bet, i've caught loads of carp on Zigs and floaters and don't remember lifting any scales
i think that when using really thin braids it may be a problem but not with most mono's
