Default My new alarm....... ruined

When packing up i dropped my brand new bite alarm in the lake. Its only a cheap wychwood rage VT but im on a budget and that is a real setback. Will the tackle shop i bought it from replace it or will i just have to spend another £20 on a new one.
Oh and how long to the batteries last in your alarms?
thanks

thnaks
just dont tell em you dropped it in the lake, all they need to know is it got wet in the rain and stopped working = faulty product.
as for batteries, i use the fox alarms and tbh i think the battery life sucks cheesy balls, but that might be because of my illuminated swingers and the fact that the friggin birds seem to take a likeing to my baits and never leave them alone. fishing midweek and didnt have any spare batteries when one of my alarms decided to give up the game on me, with no shops open at 12 at night i had to drive around for a good hr1/2 looking for an allnight tesco to get some while my mate kept an eye on my rods

Just check you are not jumping the gun - have you left it by a radiator to dry out for a day or so? I’d do this first as I’ve done similar with several oppies in the past and they have made a miraculous recovery.

Make sure you take the batteries out first though.

And don't turn it on ,if it is in the off position, to test it as you will definetly fry the circuit board.
I'm always dropping things like mobile phones and alarms into the water but the thing is they have always been turned off.
All they needed was the battery taking out and being dried properly.
The phones that I have been turned on just died a painless instant death or it will never work properly again only to be battered to death when it starts to pip you off.

Trust me the circuit board has been fried what makes it even worse is that when i took the battery out the clips which go on to the 9V battery pulled off so it looks like it has been mauled about a bit. Not sure if they will take it back.

Just tell them at the shop, that that is what it look like when you got it out the box! Worth a try! LOL

When ours is boring I come on here......I don't do much posting 'cause it's sort of yours an' Phil's domain (carp fishing mainly) but I enjoy reading the posts and I've picked up a few tips that I could use with my trusty pole
