Default The stiff hinge rig

Has anyone used this rig developed by terry hearn? What results you have had on them?

who said terry hearn developed it ? ? versions of the same thing have been around for a decade.............very efficient rig tho ..........tad awkward to tie tho especially with cold hands

Have you had good results with it though? Does it have to be fished with a popup to be effective or can you use a bottom bait?

to be honest i dont use it much........yes ive had fish on it............ i find it a bit of a tangly rig when fished at range.........ive never fished a bottom bait on it tho

Ive only used it a few times and not had any fish on it, bearing in mind this was a few years ago when i was trying every rig under the sun. I think its more suited for pop-ups more than bottom baits.

I've had great results on this rig using bottom(double)baits, and also with balanced snowman baits

One of only a few rigs i use. Very good but only use it with pop ups.

Used the rig in the past myself, had a few on it but in my opinion there are better rigs about its a pop-up rig, i generally use pop-ups when casting at fish rather than over a baited spot etc, so to me using the stiff part on a chod rig makes more sense
