Question mainline visibility

what do you think??? if you were a fish and you could see a mainline then when you touched it you wouldn`t spook
if you couldn`t see it vice versa????

Thumbs up

Interesting question.......I'v seen fish in the margin spook of line they havn't touched,my mate watched a carp hover over his rig and leadcore which he had covered up,it fanned the sand away ate the freebies and left. I dont think all fish react in the same way.If I were a fish I think I would spook if i felt something unexpected brush against me,if i saw something new in my environment then i would probably try to avoid it until it became part of the scenery.

another thing i`ve also noticed is that mainline does collect a certain amount of dust and weed etc... so surely using flouro stuff is probably no better after say 30 mins in the water than using 30lb sea line????what`s the difference then also when u fish a slack line????

If i was eating my lunch and i felt rope go across my chest id be well scared.

Ive mentioned this before, Lee jackson said something that ive never forgot about pop-up's, if you were eating a plate of peas and one was floating an inch above your plate, would you eat it?? I wouldn't..... well unless it was a Sat night and i wass full of Strongbow maybe....!?!

Think i might try that, pop-up with a P.V.A bag of Strongbow...

Lee Jackson said that?? What a load of cods. Your plate of peas aint in water, a lake is full of suspended food, flylife, pupas, snails etc. Water as a medium carries boyant items of food, bait lands mid-water in weed etc etc. The point being carp are quite used to eating items not held down by gravity unlike humans who tend to eat what the air cant suspend!

A carp looking down on the bottom will see a bait as on the bottom if its only popped up an inch .......wont it??
I think only when the carp are feeding in the silt and hard on the deck will a popup look alien.

How many fish have pop-ups taken? Millions. Ive personally had hundreds, so I dont buy Lees analagy. I dont actually use pop ups that often but when i do Im confident they will catch, the times i do use them will be above a messy bottom and also to pick off crusing fish which are not feeding hard on a spot. Just my opinion for what its worth.

If Lee Jackson doesn't like popups then why does he promote them for solar? There called Jacko's pops.
