I use flying backleads a far bit when the venues allow it due to weed etc. And tend to only use my captive backleads when the swans are becoming a pain in the proverbial a**e
The captives are excellent to help conceal the mainline but as with any backlead can cause resistance on the rig.........Ive found that a heavy flying backlead seems to cause fish to kite and i connect with them some way from where the rig was positioned ! This makes me think they can realy upset bite detection............ |

I used one of the flying backleads for the first time last week, seemed to work quite well but the cores diameter is big enough to allow it to slide down over rig tubing,a small rubber bead sorted that out.On casting you could see it hitting the water several yrds back from the rig,i'm going to try a couple of types, the korda ones look good but not had chance to try yet.I'll keep you informed

mine were the no brand type, think they were about 2 quid for 10.The diameter is about 10 mm. I liked the look of the korda ones as they're interchangable.
