Default What Pva?

What PVA should i be using in the cold cold winter? got Korda 4 seasons. the problem i found is after a night out in the lake i reeled in to reset my baites only to find a snotty glug of PVA around the hook . i pull my hooklink through the pva bag. any way of stoping this

ive only ever had solid bags do that, never the Korda mesh/web

hook it through the mesh bag and definitly not the knot especially in the colder weather. or like Brun sed use solid PVA imo its well better.

Use mesh rather than solid and hook through the mesh and not the knot. You can get leads which have a rubber ring attachment to hold the PVA to the wieght and not the hook. I'v used these to good effect in winter but cant remember who makes them - could be Korda but your local tackle dealer will supply them

iv used mesh for a good few winters now and never had a problem and many occasions the lake as froze with very cold water tempretures

used korda 4 season pva mesh uptill the begining of oct this year. i was fishing tp the 1st weekend in oct the rods had been out all night and when i reeled them in whilst packing up i reeled a bloody snotty pva mess i wont use it again

I have had this problem with Korda as well. I find that if you are using anything with an oil content, like dynamite groundbait, that the oil delays the melting process to the point where some of the PVA doesn't melt at all.
If using an oily mix, reduce the amount of oil / change the ingredients. Another tactic I use regularly is to thread the baiting needle down the side of the stick ensuring it only goes through a few of the meshes and definitely not through the end of the stick.
