Gardner x-mat, its huge but thats the price you pay for fish care.
If its for a venue with smaller fish and its a day only then just take a nash sling mat, great protection for fish upto about 25.

get the beanie unhooking mat pal! i went for a massive one! i would personally choose a smaller one so its easyer to carry! the type that are more padded round the edges so it prevent the fish sliding of in a struggle!

I use a mat made by Quantum, only 15 quid from the carp show at sandown, flippin' massive it is and about 3 inches thick of foam covered in heavy duty coating, like a king size carp bed! It's also got a zip on the underside to store bits and bobs (forceps etc) Doubles up as a nice guest seat/bed when I'm blanking away...........

New Aqua northern mat is the best mat out in my opinion at the minute ... for fish upto mid 30's! Plus it can roll up and still attatch to top of your rucksack, which is only bad thing with a beenie mat theyre a ballache to cary. The aqua is quite expensive but like said ..... dont skimp when it comes to fish care! get the best mat you can afford!

ive got a Chub Safety Sling Mat which was £25

http://www.chubfishing.com/index.php?if=view&pid=327

you could fit a 30 onto it easily, probably a 40+

the padding is about an inch thick and the top surface is brilliant, a bit rubbery
