Well tbh iv had a set of 12' 3lb hi's for bout 18 month now. Cudnt fault them one bit. As with all free spirits theyre nice bit of kit and dnt think you'd go wrong with a set of E class plus they do look a bit nice : P
Plus people keep referring to these 'matt hayes' rods that are the same blank as the hi's', well yeh TFG do make a nice rod thats pretty much the same blank as the hi's' its called the tremor and retails well over £200 so why would you want a look at the matt hayes version when its same blank jus the free spirit looks ten times better and will hold value for alot longer???? You try selling a set of second hand rods that cost you over 200 quid each for a decent price when they matts hayes name on them??? The X series rods which retail at 100 quid (which i think people have heard tfg do the same rod as the hi's' n automatically presumed its these) are not bad at all and well worht the hundred quid.... but to be fair a lad in the shop has a set of these and they aint a patch on the hi's' nowhere near as responsive and not as quick recovery .... alot heavier blank .... cheaper fittings .... So then again if you want a top end rod you wudnt consider it, although very good for the money. And tbh most ppl know that tfg n free spirit must work closesly together if you look attheir rangesof luggage..... so why would they dream of selling a 270 quid rod at 100 quid?? I think some people just havnt seen the tremors (the real tfg rods using top quality blanks very simlar to the free spirits)
Sorry if that seemed like a bit of a rant (not aimed at you kevw... just a general point that keeps arising) jus wanted to get the point across that their is a bit of confusion that has arisen about these tfg hi 's' for hundred quid... im sick of hearing it now... Jus go put the rods together the hi's' and the 100 quid tfg n give them a proper comparison
And back to the Eclass.... im sure you wudnt be disappointed with a set ... atleast youve got summat nice to look at if your blanking
