Ive got an old Woolworths ledger rod that my dad bought back in the 60s or early 70s he never used it and i have only ever used it once broke a rod so had to use it .My dads is no longer with us but i take that rod with me every time i go fishing and when i pull out another rod and the woolies special comes with out as well it always brings a smile to my face as it is in absolute mint condition and it reminds me of my dad i suppose i also have a very old half bail arm reel made by ambidex was prob one of the 1st fixed spool reels onthe market back in the days b4 i was even a twinkle i dont carry that about .All the other stuff i have is modern and has no character to it unlike the gear of days gone by.

Black widow cattys rule. However, after years of saving up me paper round money i eventually got together 15 quid and purchased the black widows daddy, the 'Diablo'.

To this day i still own him. Just replacing the elastic now and again, it gives me a 'cheese supreme' grin when i have to lay down a bit of discipline on the old tuffties!
