Just a curious question. How come you spodded over a zigrig? I know it may get some fish in your swim, but surely they'd be feeding off the bottom. I've always presumed a zigged bait would only catch the fish in mid/upper layers of the water.

Popular tactic on Horshoe spodding over zigs in the shallower summer bay, saw a fella have a 30 a mid 20 and an 18 a couple of months back. Certain ingredients will rise and fall up through the water layers. and create a nice cloud around the zig.

Well, you learn something new everyday. I suppose it all depends on the type of water you fish as to what tactics you pick up along the way. It's a tactic I'm going to bear in mind when using the zig next, cheers lads
