Default korda hooks

obviously a subject like this is giong to get a lot of different opinions. we can only speak as we find cant we? personally for winter fishing i love korda size 10 lshank X these penatrate fish really well and are perfect for the 12-14 mm baits i use come the back end. for hit and hold weed waters then the carp r us centurian 2000 in 10s and 8s really are outstanding cannot recomend them highly enough. (and before any one says anything about freemans i brought my last lot from pickerings and would use them in any weedy situ).
the wide gape size 8 is recond to be the best size in this pattern and has caught an awful lot of fish at home and abroad. This seems to be the same with a number of different patterns certain ones in certain sizes better than others. example.. esp big T in 10s.. widegapes in 8s.. super specialists in 6s..kamasan b175s in 6s...centurian 2000 in 10s and 8s. These are all my favourite in each pattern and are all there for different jobs and situations.
If you have a hook or hooks that your happy with then why change? but consider the whole picture like distance fished, weed present, rods and line used, fish sizes and rigs before choosing a suitable hook.

they have, the korda hooks have a teflon coating which is non reflective making it less visible.

Only used the wide gape in size 10 for zigs ,they seem ok.Used the longshank x in size 10 for a few years on Hawk lake had no problem until yesterday. Was fishing on there,i had a drop back pulled into it,was playing it for a few minutes and it came off, after winding in i discovered the hook had snapped. The rig had only been made up the day before ,the hook seemed ok when i got it out the packet, maybe it was a faulty one.
I like the ESP big Ts in size 10 for floater fishing and the 8s for 10mil baits and plastic.I have just started using the Centurian 2000 in size 10 for fishing in weed,so far so good.

i think that every now and again there is a week hook in a packet as i have been useing insisors and never even gaped one! saying this i had some hooks off a this guy that had had fish to 64lb in france on them an i when i was fishing in france with these hooks with fish only to 43 an on of the hooks went just compleatly straight. so what iv learnt is every hook is going to be slightly different and one in many will be weeker and will straighten fairly easily!

not used the wide gapes but i'm a big long shank x fan!, i'v never had any bother with em, but i'm touching wood as i type, there's not a bad batch around the corner, i think that's the problem! quality control!! some of my mates hate em due to them breaking, other mate's love em.
i'v been using them in snaggy situations for the past few months, and IMO think they're top!. i also use centurion 2000 snag hooks! these fella's are the daddy's IMO for snag fishin

Ive used korda wide gapes for 2 seasons now and never had any problems with them, if i do i'll change, after all theres hundreds of them on the market so its good to see people putting down their views on the hooks they use.

Ive used the longshanks for a fair while now and never had a problem with one. Only used them for open water fishign though mind. Use ashima's think theyre super heavy carp for snag fishing etc. In defence of the widegapes in size 8, a good mate of mine landed cats to over 120lb from a lake in france while fishing for carp (hence using them ) think between him and his brother they had a few over the ton all on them hooks without a problem and carp to over 40 so .... think everyone has their opinions. Like said all depends on situation to be fair.
