min 30lb

i use 50lb braid for spodding though you may get away with 30 i changed to 50lb after having a crack off

However some people get away using a lot less on the main line but use a 30-50lb braid shock leader

I know some braids have a reputation for not being quite as good as you'd expect from the brand/packaging, so well worth doing some research before buying (I've no idea whether Berkley braids fall into this category).

If you're after an alternative, Power Pro is used by many and I'd have no problems recommending it (I use it for all my lure fishing and it has never let me down).

Mike.

Thumbs up

I use 30lb Whiplash and can reach near enough 100 yards spodding and marker. If more distance is required then I'd go with the 20lb, generally though the 30lb is the best all rounder

50lb straight through for the spod, don't bother with it on the marker, try tfg banana braid instead.

I Use a 35lb leader on the spod to 8lb sensor or fox soft steel (cheap and reliable) This will save you from spendin £30 on two spools of braid.1000 metre of fox and will last you a few seasons!

Marker - Whiplash 30lb
