Default Light wieght hangers

I have been using the matrix hot heads on a 6 inch chain for several years now. They are a decent tackle however someimes when fishing slack lines id like a lighter hanger system. The matrix although not overly heavy can still draw the line tighter than id like.I dont particularly like fishing with the head on the ground as i feel they wont show drop backs.
Is it possible to use a light indicater on a chain or is a chain to heavy in itself?

Any thoughts?

Cheers]

I would go with the gardener bugs with the cord. Mr Booth has a set of the little ones and they are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo light

Having been off the scene for a good few years and now re-buying my gear I'm suprised to see hanger type bobbins making a come back. Don't they give false indications in windy conditions with the lateral movement that a chain or cord would allow?

I can see that they are very popular at the moment though and just wondered why they seem to be favoured over the swinger type system that allows upward and downward movement only?

Cheers.

The chains may be a little heavy , what about trying the muddy cords before you swap heads, buy one and if it works get the others.

Failing this what about the mini hotheads ?

The clinga light bobbins from muddywaters aint so light so avoid these.

For my margin work I have two of the really old solar micro boddies , these are basically 2" plastic tubes with a thread either end , attached to muddy clinga cords , Ive yet to find a lighter set up.

I think the main reason for everyone moving away from swingers is 1)fashion 2) the weight on the line , even a fox swinger with the preload right back to max will weigh more than a light bobbin on a cord. Their crap in the wind like you say basil Which is why I still have a old school set of solar sensorizers in my buzzer bar bag

Itīs a fad fella,Iīve seen monkey climbers are making a come back aswell. The carp world is an indrustry and it needs mugs like us to keep parting with our hard earned cash.
Saying that what ever your happy with use.I fish big open waters so I use somthing with a bit of wieght and no lateral movement .

Hi Ian, I use Muddy Waters lites which I think would fit the bill perfectly. They are on a ball bearing type chain and when I use them in the manner you describe above they are just the right weight......

Have a look at the 17mm x 10mm mag heads on Keiths website , I doubt you`ll find lighter than these !
