DO NOT SPRAY THEM WITH ANY SUBSTANCE WHATSOEVER AND PARTICULARLY NOT WD40. THIS WILL NOT ONLY INVALIDATE
THE GUARANTEE BUT MAKE ANY FURTHER SEALING IMPOSSIBLE DUE TO THE CONTAMINATION IT LEAVES BEHIND Hope this helps, its of there web site...

Ian, i've had this problem a couple of times over the last few years. I've narrowed it down to water, or condensation inside the circuit. Like you said, you get a constant beeping to tell you it's damp!!!!!! I always take 4 buzzers with me, and if it happens i simply use the spare untill which time the damp one has dried out.
I've only had this happen Ian after a really torrential downpour, but i always try to make sure that the back battery covers are pushed up tight, that prevents most of the water from sneaking in the back door, so too speak!! Another tip is to put your Delkims in the airing cupboard, or on top of the boiler when you get home untill your next trip, that will completley dry them out.

thanks for the replies.
I think id packed them away damp in the hard covers on the previous trip, hopefully i can dry out the moisture and it will be ok. A fourth alarm seems a good idea as i nearly ended up using 2 rods instead of 3 on my blank! ill keep an eye out on ebay for a spare.

To stop this the best thing to do is when you get home - Remove them from your rucksack etc, take off any covers, Slide down the Battery Compartment and just leave them to dry out naturally. I have been doing this with my current set and after 8 years of hard use in all weathers I have yet to have any problems.
