Default 2 man bivvy - advice

Hi Guys,

Looking at buying a new bivvy - 2 man this time so I can take my lad with me!

Been a long time since I bought a bivvy though so I'm looking for some pointers on what to get.

I do have a budget though and don't really want to spend more than £180, but wanted a half decent one for this.

Any suggestions please? I have seen a guy selling them on ebay - non branded and they seem pretty good....but I don't know for sure. Selling under the name 'import-able' for £169.

Cheers.

I've only seen these set up in the shops so I don't know how they'll perform on the bank but from what I've seen they seem ok for the price

you can get the jrc 2 man sti single skin for £126.00 with free delivery if your budget will stretch i would also get the winter skin which is £109.00
you can buy a twin skin version but the main bivvy has mesh panels in the roof so unless the weather is gr8 you have to use the wrap all the time ,so getting it in the 1st option is better

Hi Basil,
I use a Nash Titan which isnt big enough for my young lad to come with me so I have been looking for a cheap 2 man bivvy which might only be used a couple of times a year, I found this which I will probably buy.Hope this is of some use. Cheers Tom

hutchy cabrio twin skin you can pick em up cheap on ebay or tackle trader a bit on the heavy side but enough room for both of you and nothing will get through it

Ok thanks for all of the advice lads! I think I'll look for a JRC single skin and buy a separte winter skin. Don't much like the sound of the mesh top on the single skin - although I suppose this is to reduce condensation?

Now I just need x2 bedchairs, barrow, luggage etc and I'll be ready for an assult on a tough Cheshire Mere.......where I left off 10 years ago!! Can't wait - went for a look around at the weekend and it's got to be one of the most attractive looking mere's around. 36 acres and not too pressured....bring it on!

Thanks again.

Smile Chub Cyfish+ 2man bivvy

I would defo recommend the Chub Cyfish+ 2man bivvy. Very similar to Trakker SLX but alot cheaper and you get all the extras. Only £160 at Climax Tackle - The Best Fishing Tackle Shop in the land!. You get full zip infront mozzi net, winter skin, support bars + pegs. I have had one for 12months and am well pleased with it.

Chub Fishing - Cyfish +

Hope this helps.

Thanks for this - having read the reviews I'm now leaning towards this bivvy. Can't find any obvious faults and for the money I think I can live with the weight issue pointed out.

Cheers again for all of the sound advice....I'd have been shopping around for ages otherwise!

Look out for my other threads on rods, reels etc coming soon to a forum near you!!!
