As rare as, but they became gold dust and most sought after because they were SO reliable compared to the other alarms at the time.

I bought the MK2 Delkim as soon as they became available again - sold them 5 years later to a guy I still work with now [9 years later]. His son still uses them now and has never had a problem to this day.

Just as soon as I can justify shelling out a few squid - I'll be after the Delk's for sure!

ALL i can say is i've had delkims pack up in the rain,fox's pack up whatever the weather!!!!.......but simple,reliable Nevilles go on and on and on.....

We should make this thread a sticky! The Nev/Delk debate seems to pop up at least once or twice a quarter!

Incidentally, here's a little interesting snippet of info I've copied and pasted from the Delk website;

In the late 1970’s, carp anglers DEL Romang and KIM Donaldson put their names together to form DELKIM. The business was initially formed to give Del & Kim the credibility to obtain bait making ingredients and flavourings for themselves, which at that time could not be purchased from tackle shops. It is a little known fact that Del & Kim played a major part in discovering some famous early bait flavourings before they were generally available including Cream, now known as Scopex, Strawberry, Spice “B” etc.

They also had a number 1 single in 1987 called "Respectable"........
