Default big pit/baby big pits

hello lads there are that many on the market these days i dont know what to get and the only big pit i have ever used is the shimano longcasts, which i do like but im unsure if there is better out there nowadays. so before i go out and buy the newer models i would like some advice.

i have 150 per reel to spend per reel at the very most.

could you all reccomend me something please?

it has to be a workhorse something that can stand abuse, with very good line lay and a nice clutch. i am also worried about hearing from somebody you are meant to balance your reel out with your rod, is this true? if so theyll be sitting on a pair of chub outkasts if this helps, i would like the reel to have some sort of baitrunner system. although i dont get many runs so i suppose if theres a good reel without one i could cope

thanks lads i look forward to your replies.

not got them myself but have heard good things about them, people doing the same sort of distance as big pits, the tackle box is doing free bulk spool of line with them at the minute or try ringing around asking for money off for buying more than 1 should see you getting a couple of quid knocked off good luck.

After your other thread Joe I have been doing a little more looking around myself.I think those Outkast rods look good and they must have faith in them giving them an unconditional guarantee for life!
I think I would couple them with the Ultegras or maybe you could get a deal for some Daiwa Infinity baitrunners as your 500 might cover it as you can get a pair of Outkasts from England Angling for £115....happy hunting

you cant argue with that 60 each with a lifetime guarantee, ive also been shown a video how far they bend before they snap i also believe they are the same company as greys? yes i am going to go for some ultegra i think. id like to see if this balancing the two makes a difference. im always looking for a couple of extra yards. same to you mate.

WTF is this 'baby big pit' thing all about? Just get a f***** baitrunner!

Or is it this whole fashionable fishing gear thing again?

Just seems a bit mad, going from small reels to bigger sea type fixed spoolies for extra distance, then making them smaller again?! Century will soon be anouncing their awesome new 9ft FMJ with 60mm rings...

if you,ve got the shimano long casts m8 id stick with them , ive had mine for 3 years and not had a problem yet
i know there maybe more fancy ( and expensive reels ) about but why change if they are doing the job for you .
