Just looked on ebay for SS3000 reels and a set of SS9000 on at £575 for 3, what do you guys reckon to them ?

I have 3 of the GS9000's, and love 'em. BUT, they are heavy and have a lousy retrieve. I turned down 3 Techniums for them recently but that was out of sentimentality for them. One thing to consider, if you buy them and you get a problem, spares are not available. Although the body casting is that of the TS6000 the internals are different. I had to replace the oscillation shaft in one of mine and located one in Texas, there were only 11 listed worldwide!! Daiwa did the work for me and replaced anything other they had spares for, which wasn't much.
The sensible option would be buy 3 TS6000's, or probably Techniums if it were ny choice. |
