My Favourite Bait has changed over time as I have changed Baits. It is normally the bait I'm currently using

For a while it was New Concepts Mariner Mix, then Nutrabaits Enervite, then The Biollix, then I switched to Trigga and then over to Bait and Feed Co's Particle 42 and then onto Smokey Mackeral.

The Bolt rig is not a rig as such, more a Lead attachment system, designed to make the Carp run, so the hooklink and hook itself is the actual end rig. For years (10at least) I have been using a Line Aligned hook to a braided hooklink with a supple hair or a basic Knotless knotted braid or coated braid hooklink. In terms of Lead attachment, then I have changed between an Inline Lead (Bolt or Semi-Fixed Lead Rig), to Pendant Semi-Fixed Leads and Running Leads, dependant on Fish and the water I'm fishing.

a hooklength material i dont think ive ever seen anyone using dacron braid by gardner, i actually dont no if its still in production. i dont think it is.
its not as supple as normal braid like sink link etc which can be prone to tangling, and doesnt coil up on itself either. have found this to be absolutly perfect for silt fishing and use it for around 90% of my fishing, taken the majority of the fish iv had this season on it!

do you use the same rig and bait all the time i doubt it. Sometimes its not viable to use a bright bait on a short link to a running lead, for instance in weed or close to snags or in shallow clear waters with lots of coots, tufties etc

My favourite bait is Nash frozen whisky boilies, probably because they are no longer available, shame as they really were devastating.

Best rig, approx 8" merlin hooklength, size 8 ashima barbless or size 7 kamasan maxx hook. 2.5 oz cyprinid products riser lead, sometimes running, sometimes not.
