A normal torch will charge em, but the U.V ones are quicker and make em glow stronger.

The first plastic baits that i used were the fake enterprise mixers which are brilliant. I can't be doin with small bits nibbling at the hook bait and causing it to come off which is why they are so good as they will stay perfectly presented for as long as possible. After my confidence rose through using the mixers i then tried the fake corn which again i found were great for detering the smaller fish.

You really need a UV light to charge them up, normal torch dosn't do much. Alternative is to leave out in sunlight (only works if it stops raining !!!!)

Yes, I am the most visible, a few seconds under the UV lamp and I'll attract 'em like you wouldn't believe, carp like me too.....

Blue shows up as black underwater, so its the least visible. . .

i use fake maze for toppers, a bit splash of colour when needed.
i'v use fake corn on occasion but prefer to use it in conjunction with a bait,
a few mate's have dun realy well on plastics, they work, there's no dout about it! i think it depends on the situation,

Had a couple of fish feeding on halibut's over the weekend about 6ft from the bank, was fishing fake corn balanced on the hair over the top. Both fish had their heads down feeding and I was sure it was going to go, then they saw the corn and scarpered big time

Second rod fished similar area on 2 half boilies on a snowman rig slow sinking over crumbed boilie took a 19lb mirror

My mind is made up

Not quite with you mate; are you saying you were fishing a single bright yellow fake bait over a bed of dark pellets?

If so, that might have had something to do with it.

Was a bit of "mushed" sweetcorn as well so it wasn't too blatant, but know what you're saying.

I have caught on plastic corn before, but watching the reaction of these fish made me think how often has this happened without me noticing?
Has really dented my confidence in the stuff, will be difficult to sit behind the rods for a day wondering what may be going on

yeah but if you were fishing the plastics over particles it would look and be perfect ! I honestly think that it may have been just too blatant for em

Think the only particles I'll stick with are snails and shells
