Default Re:-Spirulina (blue green algae powder)

Just wondered if any one has had a dabble using Spirulina and if they have any good things to say about the stuff.??

Found out this so far:-

Spirulina is very high in protein and antioxidant Beta carotene which improves fish health and helps fight disease. Being a protein food that contains all the essential amino acids it is actively sourced by fish thus proving a great attractor and boilie additive suitable for year round use. This product will dye bait green.

I started using it just before Christmas as a bit of an experiment really as I had read reports of its attraction to Carp.Had to guess the quantity to add. I was also using robin red it didn't effect the colour of the finished boilie.Never actually used the boilies and they are still in the freezer because I started on a baiting campain with a mate and we are using his bait......

Spirulina over rated in my opinion. Long term may see some benefits. Defiantly not an instant attractor. Very similar to spinach. Very good for you thou.

Default Spirulina

It has quite an impressive nutritional profile and vit and min content.I would think maybe it could be beneficial BUT it looks pretty similar to kelp/seaweed to me to which it is closely related and so that will probably be a cheaper and better proven alternative...
