A little strong do you not think?

Would be very interested in the amount that a fishes digestive system can break down those seperate food sources as i havent found much on it. As peanuts have a high calorie content with a high level of protien, which can surely be useful to mr.carp if he can digest them of course. Any info?

Millions of free radicals pass threw you constantly it if they collid with a cell nucleuse and it goes hay wire that the problem starts. Or so is my understanding.

Difference between human grade and non is freshness and storing conditions as far as i am aware.
Pretty much spot on with the free radicals Joe...many things contain free radicals in essence these are cell busters. The ingestion of 'antioxidants' and vitamins will help to mop up these free radicals.Lots of healthy foods are high in these antioxidants like tomatos or even tomato ketchup!! The problem with free radicals is that they can cause changes at the molecular level in DNA and this can then lead to the onset of cancers.High fat foods do contain a lot of free radicals as well. Sorry for the aside.Regarding peanuts the only difference I know between the bird nuts and human grade is the carcinogenic alflatoxins but its strange that we dont mind the birds eating them. I would like an explanation as well as to why peanuts are so bad for carp if prepared properly as they are a very high in calories actually one of the highest known calorific foods there is lots of lipids and protein. The carp must simply have problems digesting them I would think...or maybe they are just frowned upon through misuse...they can definately catch carp though..

remember them being used a lot in the 80`s and being the cause of a few carp mortalities through not being prepared right or could it maybe of been that they were`nt human grade and were being used in excessive amounts.can remember a time fishing sale that if you put in kilo`s of peanuts you bagged up big time, think most people were guilty of it at the time.

Too many peanuts (human or birdfood grade) will cause a Vitamin E deficiency in carp leading to serious weight loss and then death.

I have to admit I used to use pet shop peanuts many years ago and caught very, very well on them. I was ignorant of the toxic fungus issue back then.

I can't believe the odd pouchful or PVA bag of human grade nuts will do any harm, but it's when everybody suses out that nuts are catching and starts piling them in.

i am looking at the worse case mate i know in moderation they can be devastating but on the other hand too many can be DEVASTATING do you err on the side of caution or moan about the fact your carp are belly up after the event i sound like an old fart but remember deep hayes being filled in with the things i was just as guilty but how do you tell kids after their first decent fish to be moderate with their baiting
