glm. one of the first additives i think that had betaine in it. became a bait known the grange which has been going for years. possibly one of the best boilies ever produced and still a big carp catcher considering it's been out for sround 10-15 years. awesome bait mate. great additive. never used the stuff which is probably why i constantly blank.

I have done very well on baits containing it and I have also done well on baits without.......if you like to play about with natural attractors it doesnt hurt...I used it primarly to replicate a natural food signal in a water where there has been lots of swan mussles in the past which the carp had grown up on.It did rather well....but still even when I dropped it I still caught on a good fishmeal....good I would say, 'essential' I dont know for sure... Plenty of good baits have a little bit in them some have a lot all these baits catch fish...try it and see...Also try and source the best GLM possible....I believe the stuff from New Zealand is the best....or maybe thats the only major supplier!!!...Always used nutrabaits myself(which used to be from N Z)...

glm is a very effective attractor as its highly concentrated . it originates from shellfish in the pacific waters off new zealand and is high in betaine which is known to incite sustained feeding responses . there is pretty much no inclusion limits its more about how much you can afford to put in. but 4g per kilo of dry mix is a good guide. you should notice the difference in your catch rates over a period of time but alot depends on other ingredients used in your base. all the natural attractors like glm / betaine powder /liver powders etc... are all a step in the right direction to a good longer term bait. personaly i wouldnt use any of my own baits without them.
