I have used the original one a few times on smaller fish waters, runs waters, etc with good results but not had any success with the more mainstream big fish waters. As for the other different types i haven't tryed them yet.

i have used all 3 what i do is like said before use about an inch with it's skin stripped give it a bit of a squeeze to let the oils flow, chop some up and mix with some pellets put them in a stick and wal'la.
instead of useing foam put an immo fake corn on the hair aswell gives it a bit of movement.

havent used it that much although on my first time out with it i had the lake reccord of 16lb from a small lake (although this was a few years back)
