Hi Jason, you will prob get loads and loads of different responces to this question, tbh there are plenty of options you could use and with so many different baits around you would be pushed to find a bait which didnt catch. I would recomend a bait which has a proven track record on the water you fish, usually a friendly chat with the local anglers and you will soon pick up which bait is being applied to your chosen water.
Other than that mate, i use Mainlines 14mm frozen readymades
Activ8 for all of my fishing these days - it catches everywhere

Confidence is the main thing here and thats what works for me.
Frozen = Fresher baits
