i agree there phill , if teh bait has robin red in it then they can pale in the sunlight but once in the water will still let off the same attraction . What you can do mate is store them in pellets then rehydrate as you need to , the pellets will take all of the water content out of the bait so it doesnt go off , you will then need to soak them for a short while as they will be like stones lol .... ive used and caught with bait 2 weeks old using that tech' , hope this helps nick

I would air dry them if i was you but the next best option is put them all in a bucket of trout pellets they will absorb the moisture and stop them going off. Most baits should last at least a week before turning except mabe a HNV bait.A bait that turns white slowly is probaly not going off but the sugars are coming to the surface.Mainline baits do this after about 5-7 days.

pile it all in on the saturday and save 7 boilies for hookbaits!!

lol i would air dry mate what you have been told is rubbish, the company probably wants you to use them as fresh as possible because ALL the original flavour levels will be there which they obviously want you to catch on

You can buy a vacuum sealer for about £50.00. This will keep your baits fresh but not frozen obviously. A small price to pay if you don`t want air dried (although, I agree with previous posts, there should be no problem). You can also (if you are careful) seal your particals with it.

Do air dryed boillies still give off a good scent when you come to use them, and are they as effective as a freshly de-frosted bait, its something I'm looking at doing in the near future.

As you air dry, the boilie becomes smaller due to water loss so an 18mm might go to 16mm and the flavour attraction usually drops at around the same rate.Ive just air dryed 20 kg of fusion and it still smells the same but is just a bit smaller.I cant see how a fresh against airdryed would differ reguarding the fish picking it up but i would prefer fresh.Travelling abroad i would always go for air dryed to be safe.
