used to catch loads of carp on it pre boilie days in the late 70,s early 80,s. it was and im sure still is a great bait. These days I tend to use peperrami which is a similar meat but stands up better to casting on a hair. No reason why you cant use LM if you want to, cut into small cubes and fire in with a catty to bait up. If at longer range try a few small bits on pva tape or a pva bag.
If youve never tried peperrami give that a try first, great winter bait with a small stocking of pellets hooked on the hook or a stringer of 4 -5 1/4 inch lengths of rami. IANB Last edited by IanB; 03-10-2006 at 06:04 PM. |

Luncheon meat is awesome!!
Make sure you use a thickish material for the hair and a chunky hair stop to prevent it flying off on the cast. Keep it as cold as possible. This will keep it firm and more user friendly. |
