i got bored 1 time and made 1 up put absulotley evrything in it, a tin of mackrell mashed up in a coffee grinder amoungst other things, pellets, bread, cereal, hemp and some krill and oyster dip, clouded up really well and released oils, some bits hung in mid water, worked a treat! fished wallnut tree and had 5 fish on the rod with the stick mix and 2 fish on the rod with a bag of pellets.

Summer - Groundbait, with crushed hemp, chopped peanut and a good glug of oil just before casting out, a nice visual patch of bait for those kippers, with the added attraction of the oil...
Winter - Stringers, or bags of pellet and chopped boilie (Posted edited, 'cuz this noddy put it the wrong way around )

hey nige just out of interest have you not found that the oil in winter conjeals a bit or even slows the break down rate of you stick / bag ....??? ive tended to stay away from oils over the colder month ??? smokey

Sorry, got that one the wrong way round.
I'll just edit that post.... Although in winter I tend to relax the flavours/attractants used and if anything just add a slight amount of maple cream flavour, and fish a bright pop-up over a small patch, but tend to fish singles, small bags or stringers in winter. I must say though that the winter PVA is much better than sticking with normal stuff, that can be wound in after a matter of minutes, still in tact
